Bass Fishing
What You Need To Know About Bass Fishing The best way to succeed in bass fishing is to
know and understand the fish themselves. Armed with this information you will have a more productive time when you go fishing. By
knowing the fish themselves you will be able to consider all the factors and conditions that will give you a better chance of
catching them.
Factors to Consider Before You Head Out to Fish.
First you should consider how a bass eats. A recent study placed several types of bait in tanks with the fish; the result was that most of the
time the fish preferred to eat anything in the crawfish family such as crayfish and crawdads. This is largely because they are easy for the
bass to find and catch. However, this doesn't mean you should stick to crawfish all the time since there are still quite a number of other baits
that work just as well. Choosing the right bait for fishing is a matter of observing the conditions you are in and then trying out
several baits until you figure out which one works the best.
Breathing
All creatures, even bass that live in the water, require oxygen to live. One may wonder what knowing the oxygen content of water will do for bass
fishing. The fact is that if you are fishing in a place with lower oxygen content the bass are likely to be more disoriented and will be slow to
react. You are probably wondering how you can determine the oxygen content of the water. It is quite simple really, the colder
the water the greater the oxygen content and the warmer the water the lower the oxygen content. So if you are bass fishing in warm
water it is generally a good idea to try deeper where the water is a little cooler since bass prefer the colder water.
Cover
This is the last key factor you need to think about when deciding where to start bass fishing. This is an extremely
important thing to consider because bass are likely to use cover to surprise and ambush their prey when they are looking for food.
Bass also cannot expose themselves to sunlight for long periods of time otherwise their eyesight can be badly affected and
they could go blind. So you are likely to find the largest number of bass under or around cover such as plants or downed trees.
